NXT-717 is the closest equivalent to the well-known refrigeration oil, Shell Clavus S-68, of which Shell has recently discontinued production. In order to switch to using Shell’s oil alternatives, you must first alter your compressor to handle the new lubrication conditions.

Switching to the use of NXT-717 oil, on the other hand, does not require flushing or any special change out procedures.
